Cheap Hosting
With the number of hosting providers available today locating a host that offers cheap hosting is relatively simple. The hosting industry is a highly competitive market where cheap hosting prices on extremely robust hosting solutions are being offered.

When searching for a hosting provider for your web page you may wish to consider any number of things such as service, reliability of the provider, what features and services the host provides, and many other things but for many people it simply boils down to one simple thing.

How much does it cost?

This is not to say of course that people are ‘cheap’ but rather to say that with the large number of hosting providers available and with the variety of services available it’s a ‘buyer’s market’ and people know they can shop around and in some cases wait as long as they like before making a web hosting choice.

It may also be the case that many users see a string of acronyms that are of little significance to them and simply wish to know how much it will cost to host a modest web page for themselves or for their business. The answer in today’s market is not very much.

For anywhere from 1 to 26 dollars a month depending on the range of features, disk space and bandwidth you think your site will require you are able to purchase a monthly hosting plan that can meet your every need.

You may be asking yourself how a company can afford to offer hosting at such a low price and the answer is through what is known as shared hosting.

As the name implies, shared hosting works on the idea that you will be sharing space on a server with many other people. If shared hosting were not available then each and every person who wanted to produce a website would have to invest in not only a server, but also the infrastructure to support that server. It is simply not practical for most people to run a website from a dedicated server and indeed, many people do not even want to. By far and large most people can be accommodated through shared solution where the cost of the server and the infrastructure to support it are divided between many different users in order to produce a cheap hosting solution for everyone.

Of course, shared hosting does have a few drawbacks but even these are not a problem for most people. In a shared hosting environment you must always be aware that a single server is responsible for processing not only your website but every site hosted on it and as such you may only be permitted certain amounts of space on the hard drive and also only allowed to utilize certain amounts of RAM and CPU at any one given time.

This type of hosting is provided with the basic understanding between the consumer and the provider that the consumer doesn’t need to host a site that uses up large amounts of disk space or requires extensive use of the servers CPU and RAM. The reason such hosting is available at all is because people understand that their hosting needs are modest enough that buying their own server is not a practical use of their resources and their needs are better met with a more cost effective shared hosting solution.
